Kirk, they are pretty easy to use:
1.) turn headlights on 2.) wash windshield In order to take a pic of them spraying, you'd need a couple of people or a camera on a tripod and a remote shutter release. |

The first time you do it at night, when stopped, it's pretty cool. I forgot the car even had then, washed my windshield and saw this blast of mist toward the nose of the car. I was like...huh...ohhhh yeah! Sweet! Haha/

So, its not a separate switch for the headlight washers? I had a Supra that had headlight washers and it was a separate switch. Thought that made more sense. I only see the need to wash headlights if driving in snowy conditions at night or they are salt covered in Winter. Guess i'm being picky.. im an addict.

You can find videos on YouTube of various cars with the pop-out headlight washers.
As larryn said, they're automatic on the 1er (like most other BMW-group vehicles right now). The headlights will wash every 3-4th time you wash your windshield. They always spray twice, to my knowledge. On the 128, the headlight washers are fixed on the bumper - no special alien pop-out experience.

Huh! I knew they were controlled with the windshield washer controls, but I would prefer the retractable type for a cleaner look. Thanks for the info! |
