Now we are getting somewhere. Counting me that's four already that have interest for a FunRun during the week. I'll get to work on a route then update those of interest and get a date set. The absolutely best route for an all day excursion would be up to Murphy, NC then 64 toward Franklin but left to Nantahalla Lake via Wayah Road (State Bike Route 2) along the Nantahalla River to the NOC (Nantahalla Outdoor Center) and then a return route on 28 to Franklin, 441 thru Clayton and south back home on 365/985.
This route sure would provide many many photo ops if desired. And if you wanted to take a side venture to the Tail of the Dragon in the Fontana Dam area and Robbinsville that works, too.

Let's see what Dan gets set up for a weekend venture then we will go from there.

I definitely cannot make it on a weekday. Really Saturday or Sunday is best for me. I'll try to get some other forums involved as well if we can come up with a good day.

for the mid-week run, i'd like to know the date asap - need to go to the dealership beforehand to get my front right dust-brake-cover tightened (that side was clicking last time i went to blood mountain), and a mid-interval oil change.

Looks like it's too late in the week to try to get things going for this weekend. My next two weeks are full but I'll go ahead a get something together for the middle of May...maybe one for during the week and/or on Sat or Sun. I'll post no later than the first week in May so folks can plan.

InsaneSkippy do you know about what time you will be coming thru ATL? Where are you heading? Depending on which direction you are taking we might be able to meet up for a hello or a meal. You are welcome to pm or email me your thoughts...peautry@msn.com

The girlfriend and I are driving up to Chattanooga, then on to Minneapolis to visit family.

We'd be going through ATL the day after Mother's Day (May 11th) and would probably be going through Atlanta by about 11:30/noonish I would imagine. It'd be cool to meet up somewhere for lunch, I'm sure my legs will need a break by then

Also, I'll be driving back down (this time by myself as the GF will have flown home) during the middle of May, I could try and time my return trip for a weekend (probably 23rd/24th) if there is a meet.

I'll send you a PM when I have more information, we just started talking about this a few days ago.

Rodi, I feel your pain...but I'll be too busy setting up my MINI and detailing it for the following week's annual gathering at Fontana, NC for 2009 MOTD (MINIS On The Dragan). However, on the way up I'll be checking out a new route for the ATL1ADDICTS that I hope we can take in May during the week. It will have a lot of great photo-ops...I could even see a few that could make a calendar or two

OK can we do something on the weekday the beginning of May then? looks like Dan is indisposed and the weather is getting too nice to ignore! Let's get a list of who wants to go, looks like we already have a route; now let's get a date set!

i've got two bent right wheels (trying to get them to replace them under the purchased tire/wheel coverage). kinda worried about tearing up those curves. or am i just paranoid?

No I don't see that you're paranoid at all. I won't drive anything balls out I don't have confidence in. BTW how the hel___ didja bend em?

Okay, I'll throw out three dates:
Wednesday, May 6th
Wednesday, May 13th
Thursday, May 14th
This little get-together will be a FunRun & photo op time so we would need to meet early AM, for breakfast if desired, plan for about 6-8 hours with lunch in-between. We can set the meeting point later but I'm thinking Gainesville since we will be going thru Gainesville...and I live in Gainesville.

I'll post the exact route on May 4th. Is that definitive enough for you

pot hole on peachtree. i normally catch them soon enough and swerve, but i'd had some wine (sparkling grape juice?) and swerving would have been bad. so i just bit it.
