compare E90 with 997 C4S, pics included

Finally finish the list after 1 weeks test.

1. Auto down window when the doors open. Not available with e90.
2. Steering wheel. Not mention the m sport steering wheel, even non sport e90 steering wheel will offer multi function buttons, how can the c4s doesn’t come with that?
3. Spoiler. As we all know, Porsche’s spoiler can auto up and down, e90 can’t beats it.
4. The key. E90’s key is smaller and prettier. Porsche doesn’t offer comfort access.
5. Interior door handle. 997 just same with Nissan 350z (also known as fair lady). How can a top line Porsche have same handle with Nissan?
6. Shift knob. 997 have same shift knob with VW. How can this be?
7. Navigation. E90’s i-drive is easier to use. 997’s navi is even more complicate than F-16 jet fighter.
8. Auto on and off headlight. 997 C4S doesn’t have that function. What a joke!!!
9. DTC/DSC. 997 cannot turn it off. E90 can!!!
10. Horse power. No comparison!!!!! Everyone knows e90 is much faster! (j/k) you know the real answer.
11. Sound system. 997 have better sound system.
12. Handling. E90 have better turning ratio, but 997 have better handling.
13. Attract girls. I think 997 is much easier! (not sure about attract guys, tho)
14. Break system. This 997 has PCCBS on it (which Porsche Carrera GTR equipped with), so even Brembo cannot compare with it.
15. Sport shifting. Not available for e90!!!
16. Sport seat. Sorry, but I am almost 200 lbs. so e90’s seat is better for me.
17. Sport clutch. 997 feels like BMW e36’s clutch.

Looks like e90 has more advantages than 997 C4S. (sorry, pictures took by cellphone)

Nice comparison. You're one lucky guy to get to drive a Carrera 4S. BTW are those photos taken in SF across the street from Macy's in Union Square?

It's nice to know that the 3 offers more luxury feature than a 4S. Although I think that a Porsche buyer probably doesn't buy a Porsche for luxury features. (heck even a Prius has CA these days... ) The flat-6 in that Carrera and Porsche's superb handling is enough to offset any luxury features..

What kind of comparison is this

997 anytime.

I don't compare a Casio watch to a Omega.

18LLC, I'm pretty sure 997 owners can afford to have an E90 on the side as a daily driver

Whatever tickles your fancy, but the 997 vs. E90? Why It's like comparing having sex, none of it's bad some is just better, in this case the 997 is just better. Now if you were comparing the upcoming M3 it would probably be more relevant from all standpoints

sounds like you are comparing the two simply based on luxury options. yes the porsche is luxurious........but for a sports car.
if you really just care about auto headlights/wipers, comfort access, etc. then i guess the e90 is the choice.

Hmmm 9974S is my dream car. But cant afford one just as of yet. I know where hes going with the comparo. When you buy a P car you have to pay for a lot of the extras that come standard on other cars. Power seats, Xenon for the base 997. Soo yeah for the dollar a E90 is a great deal compared to a 9974S. Drive wise you get what you pay for. The E90 being an awesome practical everyday crusier is just very insignificant when compared to a 9974S.

Funny enough when the the new M3 comes out the distance between cars will shrink rapidly and the justification for a P car maybe that much harder to swallow. Im on the fence on this one allthough the 997S is the nicer looking model the M3 maybe able to equal or out pace it. Time will tell.

If you drove the C4S for sometime, could you please describe the driving feelings, advantages, and so on compared to the E90?

i drove a c4s (auto/AERO CUP!!!/pasm/sc/no pccb) for a weekend and i must say that the car was absolutely phenomenal, very composed, amazingly agile ... BUT it was not worth the e124000 (165000$) price! NO NO , absolutely out of the question, although sharper in feel , i strictly prefereed the feel of the e46 m3. But if you want to show off, then there really isnt a better car than the 997.

for that money i could buy a e60 m5 and a 320d

As for an e90 vs porsche comparison, i think its meaningless until the e90 m3 comes out. Then you will have some ground to compare
