Tunes/Mods on 3rd Party Warranty
Has anyone had any experience with warranty and tunes/performance mods for a 3rd party? Everything I have read is for the BMW warranty through BMW.
I have a 2009 135i which is right out of warranty and so I opted for a 3rd party Zurich which I negotiated to a good deal (3 years of "bumper to bumper" for 1,500. $200 down payment per visit). How do dealerships work with these warranties or what shouldl I expect? |

Expect to get screwed...
3rd party warranties in my experience tend to nickle and dime you... so if there is a clear cut way for them to deny a warranty, then they likely will. With that said, they still have to have some kind of proof that your mods caused the damage to your vehicle if that's the way they choose to go with it. If it's something minor, they'll probably just go ahead and cover it... but if it's something major (thousands of $$$), you'd better say your prayers. I've never had Zurich, but I've had plenty of other 3rd party warranties on BMWs. |
