Weekend at Zaino's

Spent the weekend giving the car a beauty treatment.

Looks great, I really like Crimson Red, it's a great color for the 1er.

Nice!

I started to wonder if I was the only Zaino user left, seems like everyone has switched to something else. I still think it works great and is so easy... plus I still have a bunch of it on hand so maybe I had better like it.

Do you use any of their interior stuff? I only have products for the outside.

I still use Zaino myself - question though. I know that a properly zaino'd vehicle produces the water beading...but Zaino advertises their products as polishes - does it provide protection as well?

The answer to this may make me switch.

Zaino (Z2 and Z5 at least) is a protectant and it's actually quite good at it. General terminology is to call synthetic last stage protectants (LSP's) a sealant and natural products waxes. Somewhere the term polish seems to have entered the lingo for synthetic protectants, I'm not sure why.

I used Zaino for over a decade and really enjoyed it. If you're still using it you should at least check out Blackfire Wet Diamond and/or Menzerna Power Lock, I suspect you'll be very impressed.

I tried Menzerma and it didn't really impress me. Haven't tried Blackfire yet.

As tracer bullet said: It is real easy to work with.

Therefore laying down several coats in one day won't kill you arm or shoulder.

If you follow the instructions (especially now with the ZFX). You will be handsomely rewarded.

BTW...water beading to me is a useless indicator. Any wax can acheive this.

What I like about Zaino is that even after several months one can simply wash the car, use Z6 and it looks like it was done yesterday.

Do you still have an E34 M5? Pics?

Just curious what you didn't like about Power Lock? I've found it has equal durability to Zaino, isn't as sensitive to humidity, dries quicker and is significantly better at resisting bird bombs and water spots.

I also find that both Menzerna and BF work just fine with one coat, while Zaino doesn't really seem to come into it's own until you get the second or third layer on.
