WTB 128 Sport/MSport 6MT coupe

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Hi All,

I'm searching around for a 128i Sport/M Sport, 6MT is a must, no iDirve, strong coupe preference. Open to everything else.

Mileage +/- 50k, and hoping if I find it here it will be relatively "enthusiast maintained" and taken care of.

Color preferences. I have them and I’d like to find Sedona Red, any of the Blues , or a fun neutral color (e.g., silver/black/grey with red or brown interior).

I'm willing to ship or travel and drive home. Other than a PPI I’m generally going to be an easier purchaser for the right car. This will be my first “fun” car and so it’ll be garaged and gently enjoyed.

I’ve almost settled a few times but will head your great advice. Any other good tips or thoughts? I’m checking autotempest and here and Facebook marketplace.

My advice is a little different. You may have to settle a little bit. What I mean by this is, you might not find a 6MT 128i MSport that checks all of your boxes option wise, ever. If all boxes are checked except one like if it has iDrive, just go for it. You may have to wait another 1-2 years to see another one come around that's clean and that one still may not check all the boxes.

Autotempest, Cargurus, 1addicts. Check em as often as possible.

Garage List
2013 BMW 128i  [10.00]
I posted this one here several times over the past week and everyone just let it go for cheap money: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-bmw-128i/

Or, let's just say if you're looking for one with under 50k-miles and this one was too much money, you are about three-years too late.

That is insane that that just sold for $17.5k. I have been taking screenshots of 6MT 128i Msport's from this forum for comparisons sake if I ever decide to sell, and this one is the absolute best deal I've seen.

I bought mine at 54k miles for 15k 3 years ago. All the other ones that have been listed here on the forum around 50k miles recently have been listed $20k+.

The one that went before it Le Mans Blue, no iDrive, slicktop went for $17k. I would call it more desirable.

Yeah I’m probably waiting a while but I figure my a little above $20k budget might help me find something nice to be the 3rd owner or whatever.

You aren’t in the market to sell are you?

Bought mine in July last year with 73K miles for $11.5K. Needed tires, so call it $12.3K bone dry underneath, OFG and belt / tensioner done, needed nothing else.

Found it on local CL and pounced.

I know it seems cheap but after the blue car before it I wonder if these cars are just inexpensive enough that the client base is a little more affected by the slowing economy than others. I do appreciate you posting it in the other thread though. Maybe the person that got it for $17,500 is on this forum enjoying it now.

Not at the moment, but if I have to sell for a house downpayment you'll see it on this forum. I plan to hold onto mine and only sell if I have to, or no longer have a garage to house it.
