Hey iStig, I haven't received mine yet but been reading about how people have placed the ballast and corrector wrong and messed up their active headlights. Any tips about how best to put these items safely inside the headlight covers?

You'll see just how easy of a process the swap is once you get the covers off and feel around in there. Honestly, the ballasts the whites come with are small, rectangular pieces of plastic that are no bigger than a .45 round. once you get the new bulb screwed in there, you'll have just enough room to snuggle the ballast into place. and then put the lens housing back on.
I have had them for 10k miles and no issue with my actives. (I only use actives when driving at night) I have looked into it as well being concerend about it myself when I first got them... but honestly, once i put them in and snuggled them in there, no worries plagued my mind.

You'll spend more time putting the housing back on than anything else haha

Not that I'm aware of but I just got on the board recently.

I'm north of Atlanta but always shooting south for work.

2 events coming up that we should use to gather 1er's:

BMW Club Tour of at Atlanta Motorsports Park - Dawsonville GA

http://atlbimmers.blogspot.com/2013/...park-tour.html

GRAND-AM Rolex Series Race at Road Atlanta April 2013 | not sure of date but its on Grand-AM or Road Atlanta websites.

So who's down for either of these????

Thanks for the post man. I am definitely down for the Atlanta Motorsports Park meetup. I live in north Atlanta as well (Alpharetta area). This could be the first 1addicts meet in Atlanta, if it was never done before.

Brown,

I occasionally see another 1 but usually 128 automatics (nothing wrong with that, great car) but I need some other 6MT 135's to run around with .

Lets see if we can get a few more up for the AMP tour on the March 16th. Ive certainly never been on the track but its a killer facility from pulling through the garage area to look at the track. I'm told hot laps with members of the park will be available!!!

They have a kart track as well, and the roads coming in and out of the facility have some great twisty runs!!!

I live up near AMP but I work right off of Exit 13 and do a lot of work in Alpharetta. Car actually came from United.

You should check out caffeine and octane which is going on this sunday right of windward.

http://www.caffeineandoctane.com/

The show is held from 8:00am – 11:00am on the first Sunday of every month off Windward Parkway in Alpharetta GA. Simply look for the Deerfield office park and the Mambo Jambo restaurant. If you still can’t find it, look for the giant group of of awesome cars.

Its between 200-1000 cars of all dif makes. Everything from BMW | MINI to Lambos to 1930's fords.

ONDEMAND,

128 Convertible automatics with female or elderly drivers are all I see as well. I saw a 135i ONCE! And i flashed him to say nice ride, but he just gave me a weird stare, lol.

The AMP meet sounds awesome and we should definitely get more people to go. The caffeine and octane show looks very interesting, i'll definitely check it out this sunday. Any chance you might be there? Let me know.

Was up in the Atl area Thur/Fri to pick up the wife's MCS from the shipping yard. Man I've never seen so many cops running radar/laser. I "trapstered" three inside a 5 mile stretch of highway....
ONDEMAND if your ever down south GA I'll run with you.

Tons of GSP officers around these days! Although I can say there is a great amount of good runs once you get well north of the city and up in my neck of the woods.

If you ever have one pull out to come after you just down shift to 4th and watch the tac and speedo climb in unison to 3 o'clock!!!

I debated the escort system with the laser "reflectors" or whatever they call them. I'm pretty sure most Law Enforcement use Laser now rather than radar

Of course if you made it around 285 you probably noticed that the posted limit is 55mph and the average speed of the left lanes is 80-85!

Mr.Brown,

I will be at caffeine and Octane this Sunday. I think the BMW groups go crazy early to meet for breakfast and then to the lot so they can all park together. I'm and early riser but tonight I'm celebrating my girls birthday with friends so I will likely be moving SLOW tomorrow morning!

My brother and his MINI crew will be there as well.

Shot you a PM buddy!

Atlanta Motorsports Park Meet and Track Rides

Thought this warnted a new thread

BMW TRACK TOUR AT ATLANTA MOTORSPORTS PARK

SATURDAY MARCH 16, DAWSONVILLE GA

11:00 PM

Heres my experience with it.

Last weekend, on a whim I decided to run up to AMP to check out the track.

What an amazing place. First thing I noticed when I got in the premises, signed a wavier, and got a wrist band was cars on the track. Yellow Ferarri (430 i think), 3 911's, to M3's (E36) and a GTR. All screamin around the road course.

Met the CEO (really nice guy) and he introduced me to a wonderful couple who had two cars on the track that day. Next thing I know I'm sitting shot gun for hot laps in a new GTR which was crazy fast.

But the best was the E36 M that I got Hot laps in. Mind boggling how great those cars are on a track. Made me contemplate gitting rid off the on......nevermind.

I drove out of their with the biggest grin on my face and am working on a way to possibly become a member.

BOTTOM LINE, this is an amazing facility with

Full Race Course (2.4 miles) and a lot of change in elevation.
Shiter Kart tracks (open to public)
Full garage setups (rentable)

Seems like a great community effort with members driving all kinds of cars.

Anyone on the Southeast should come on Saturday as they will be doing full tours and Hot Laps for the BMW crowd!!!

Hope to see you all there.

Look at Atlanta Bimmer CLub and AMP website!

Sounds sweet. Now that I'm stateside I miss living close to a track and being able to whim it on over for a lap or two.

I might as well post in here, seems like there are a few GA guys. I actually live in Dothan, AL (close enough to GA). My fiance lives in Atlanta, so I frequent there on the weekends, also I have family in Warner Robins and Columbus. I'm pretty much all over the mid-west GA area.

I have a black 2010 135i

Nice. I saw over in the 1M section you were looking for water spot removal. Did you get the prob fixed. I have pretty good results with the water here in So. Ga so the spots dont tend to be too extreme. When I was in Germany the waters so hard it would leave spots you could feel like grit if you didnt dry quickly. Kind of like the water in parts of Florida. I also use Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant which works wonderfully for not only water but bugs and bird crap.

I just got my 135i a few weeks ago and enjoying every minute of it! Just installed the Lux AE v4's today with much hand pain until I found my gloves. Was still a pain to get those cursed wire clips back on, on the passenger side... but I got it!

I'm on Ft. Benning, and always looking for a meet or anything of the sort!

I've been trying to keep an eye out for your 1 but she's a sneaky one. :P

Send me a PM or something and we can meet up sometime.
