performance rotors are quality pieces. I have been abusing them at the track and they still look really good. ECS rotors seem nice but I have no info on them. as far as pads are concerned, cool carbons are great upgrade pads. little to no dust and better feel than oe pads. if you need a dual purpose pad for DD and track usage I recommend ferodo DS2500. make sure to upgrade your brake fluid if you're tracking. hoping that helps

I've been using ebc rotors for a while and I really like them for the price. Never tried the stoptech rotors and I never found a set for OE size of our car.

Those are super cheap. How sure are you that those are non branded BMWPF rotors? If its the real deal, it's quite a steal!

Hey guys,
The Dura BR900988 & BR900986 are fitment for a 135. Can you get the same configuration (slotted & drilled) for the 128's? The ones I see are just the std solid versions. Thx! |

I decided to try out the Cool Carbon pads when I switched to the BMW performance rotors. Given the great things I had heard about the Cool Carbon pads, I was actually rather disappointed. Although they do produce slightly less dust, they are still quite dusty. I also feel that they don't have the increased gripping power that I expected to feel.
I run Porterfield RS-4 pads on both my MINI and another BMW. They have tremendous bite (but have not been hard on my rotors) and hardly any dust at all. They will sometimes squeal at times, but that usually goes away. The Cool Carbon pads do that too. The RS-4 is a street/heavy duty pad and is not meant as a track pad, but works great for autocross. Hope that helps! Tom |

Cool Carbon pads will dust more until fully bedded and then dusting should decrease to less than 50% of OE.
The CC pads actually have a higher friction level and greater stopping power cold than OE- 0.41 vs. 0.37 and which increases to over 0.50 when hot. The CC pads do not have the boat anchor grab that some may prefer but are much more linear than OE and also have greater stopping power. We rate them 5/5 for street use and 3/5 for track. We run them on our own cars and are very pleased both for street and light track.
