Anyone around Gold Coast that can code a battery?
Hi,
On the gold coast and leaving the country on tuesday but my battery died and need to buy another today to get the car home but the shops don't code. Just wondering if anyone has the carly app and dongle that could help me out? Cheers |

So installed a new battery, cranks excellent now however wont start, like its not getting fuel? Is this a possible symptom of a faulty injector, or a dead hpfp or lpfp? Car was cranking for about 5 seconds on cold start recently but was much better when hot.

I don't know how this battery coding affects starting, if at all. Your issues could be fuel or ignition but I doubt just one injector.
You really need to get the codes read to pinpoint the problem. However, it sounds like you'll need a flat top tow to someone with a reader, unless the RACQ can do it roadside. Just what you need before going away. |

I know, worst timing ever!
I've got a set of new injectors waiting to go in but was going to do that when I got back. Do you have an experience with the hpfp? Reading that if it was to go I could still drive home in low power and a half engine light would have come on. Neither happened! Haha |

battery coding won't affect starting. it's purely for battery conditioning and setting charge rates and profiles.
don't code it with Carly get it coded properly using ncs by updating the vehicle order. I'm pretty sure carly only updates the cas module. |

Even if you had a completely failed HPFP the car should still start as the LPFP should still be able to generate enough pressure to start the engine. However if you have a completely failed LPFP or fuel level sensor then that could be the issue. It's possible that if the fuel level sensor has failed you could be completely out of fuel and just not realise it. Maybe get a jerry can and add some fuel and see how that goes.
