OEM Side Skirt
Hi all,
I bought the car about a month and loving every minute of it! Every drive brings a smile to my face. Been noticing some things I didn't noticed when I first bought it. I found out the car has been wrapped and the paint peeled off in several place. No big deal to me, I can get it fixed. Today though, I noticed another thing. The side skirt, there is a gap and a pretty big one. Is it normal? On the left side (as you are sitting in the car) it's about a two quarters (25 cents) gap near the rear tire. On the right side 3 quarters (75 cents) gap near the rear tire. Is this supposed to be tight? Can someone take a pic of that area on their 1M? I'm wondering because the car was wrapped they might have taken off the side skirts to wrap it and when they pull off the wrap they reinstalled it wrong. Below are some pics. If that is the case, does anyone have any instructions on how to take them off and reinstall them? Thanks in advance! |

Looks as if it was not installed properly. You can try this DIY to see if you can adjust it. If not you can remove it fully and reinstall correctly.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218428 - second thought. You could loosen the screws underneath the car (8) and adjust it up closer to the door and fenders.

Mine has never been removed and looks that way on the right side, just noticed it a week ago. I haven't had a chance to look at it in greater detail yet.

Really?? That's a relief! Really don't want to pop off the door sills with all those plastic clips. Do you mind taking a pic? Thanks!
