Pirate, I have been running a Drexler LSD with 3.46 (for a couple of months now) but the principle remains the same.

The mechanical LSD doesn't interfere with the e-diff at all and vice versa. What happens is that the e-diff will only come into play when the mechanical LSD get to it's limit and the wheels start spinning. This is when the e-diff will start doing its work. Think of this as a double LSD, one mechanical and one electronic. It works perfectly for me and I see no reason to turn off the e-diff. Of course you still need to turn off all the DSC/DTC as per usual in order to activate the e-diff.

We've always turned the DSC off, open diff and Quaife.

Here's the E-Diff in action.

With the Quaife LSD from HP Autowerks.

It's very stealth, but it's there. It's our black ceramic coated exhaust. Not quite available to the public, but will be soon. 3" downpipes, dual resonated 2.5" midpipes, and the rear section.

And here's what it looks like without the ceramic coating. A little more noticable, but still looks like an OEM BMW exhaust.

And you guys didn't notice the 3" downpipes? Hehe

The cat's outta the bag now.....

What would he be looking for? Beyond tint or street lighting, I don't know of any mods that could get you ticketed.

Downpipes, modifed exhaust, Code3 intercooler, Burger JB3, etc. Car was driven to/from the track exactly how you see it in the pics. No trailer queens here!

When are you going testing again? I would like Jeff to drive our project 335i and let us know what the thinks of the car! It may be a bit quicker than the 135i and handles better with near proper spring rates and geometry.
We'll be out for testing again in early 09. Going into product development mode right now. We'll meet up at Fontucky sometime!

I'd be interested in the axle-back sans the muffler just like you have it. PM me a price and when you'll have it available.

Not in that high res. The photo is from Brad Jarvis photography.

Nice to see the Quaife in action!

I prefer to see the car in the second photo! All that power is going to the ground, not up in smoke!

If he likes how our project 335i handles, we can duplicate that on your 135i and hopefully you can catch and even beat ER next year!
Hey, I'd love to! What spring rates are you running? And what have you done to the geometry? I'm curious... any more info on the car?

Thanks in advance and good luck at the track.
I know the owner's manual says that the E-diff works when DSC/DTC are off, but I swear it doesn't! Look at the photo Berk posted: we were getting massive inside rear wheelspin with DSC/DTC off and no LSD. On our car at least, the E-diff does not work when DSC/DTC are off.

With the Quaife/HP Autowerks LSD in, that inside rear wheelspin went away (of course), and I still feel no electronic intervention.

Well I hope not!
Looks like next year is going to be a big challenge staying in front.
Hey, can we get a Quaife too

Hi Jeff,

I have discussed this in detail with Bryan via email.

Shoot me a PM and we can chat a bit.
