Sound Generator Delete

Has anyone done a sound generator delete on the N55 without replacing the charge pipe all together?

We used to do it on the GTIs by just putting a cap over the intake hole that fed the diaphragm. If that's possible on this car does anyone know the OD of the port on the charge pipe that feeds the generator? I'd love to order a cap before I pull it apart.

Wouldn't this be a pretty bad idea? OEM chargepipe has two diverter valves and (assuming one is connected to the sound generator) you would need to cap off one of the two. Do you think that one of the DV would be sufficient?
