2013 135i | thinking of leasing
Hello All,
Thinking of leasing a 135i with M-sport package and a few other small options like Park Distance Control, Harmon Kardon, Heated Seats. Not sure if I'm getting the right figures from the dealers I have contacted.(41.2 for a 43.5 build with monthly 472 after almost 2.9k down with 63% residual and .0016 factor) Also is BMW scheduled to come up with a facelift for the 1 series in the coming months or will it be the 2 series eventually anticipated for fall 2014? Could I approach dealers with similar configurations which have built cars on their lot in any part of the country? Any and all suggestions appreciated |

So that seems pretty reasonable to me. You might be able to negotiate the money factor a little lower, or the price a little. Baseline money factor is .0013, but the finance guy gets paid by marking it up to .0016. This is common. On straight purchases, the finance guy gets paid a flat amount. In California, dealerships are everywhere and invoice pricing is common. But maybe not in your area.
I am leasing in Charlotte with European Delivery. I negotiated .0002 off the money factor. I received $1,000 off Euro Del MSRP, minus another $750 loyalty rebate and I am a member of the BMW Car Club, so I get another $500 rebate. So I am at $2250 below Euro MSRP. There isn't as much room for the dealer to discount Euro Delivery, so I'm not much help on comparing the price of your car. And don't forget the dealer gets about 7% of the MSRP amount as a kickback from BMW. So even if they sell you at invoice, they still get the kickback, the finance guy gets some cash out of the money factor. Lots of opportunity for them to make money. If you seem like an eager buyer and ready to sign paperwork, you can probably wiggle them down a bit. |

By the way, if you aren't currently a BMW owner, the loyalty cash won't apply to you. You might find favor in waiting for better BMW incentives, but there would be no guarantee they will offer them. At the end of last year, they were offering $1500 worth of payments if you financed through BMW. That was a pretty good offer, especially if you could get close to invoice pricing.

Thanks for your input.
Negotiating with couple o dealers for the best possible price. Trying to get the MSRP close to TrueValue, not sure if I could get the MF lower than .0013 assuming EXCELLENT credit. Unfortunately I donot qualify for the loyalty program Anywayz thanks for your input. |

btw, any leads on the facelift for the 135i in the immediate future or is BMW planning on getting the 235i as a replacement for the 135i. Well its a lease and i'd rather have a gen 2 car as opposed to a gen1.

Dealer says he has the production #, and can edit the build per my specs. Still waiting for competitive pricing.
How long does it take to get a production #, once an order is placed? Is having a production# with the dealer before placing the order really going to help expedite the delivery time from 4/6 wks? |

It might be worth double checking on the loyalty piece. When I did my 335i a few years ago, I qualified for the loyalty incentive because my wife's Mini was financed through BMWFS.

The 2-series launch is scheduled for November 2013, if I recall correctly, so that would further solidify the notion that there will be no LCI for the current 1-series sold in the US. If you're feeling apprehensive about having an "outdated" car, you might want to wait a little later in the year to see what the 2-series has to offer. Having said that, I've really, *really* enjoyed my 135i for the last couple of years. It goes back in July and I'll be sad to see it go.

Also, before you buy, you should contact a guy named David Avilles. He's a forum sponsor, and he will -- without question -- give you the best no bullshit price on a new BMW:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/member.php?u=10189 If you're even remotely considering doing something like PCD or European Delivery, you could buy from him without any additional cost. I recently went through a quoting process with him for a new M3, and I could not have been more pleased. Before you sign on a new car, use the configurator at BMWConfig.com to price out your car: http://bmwconfig.com/BmwConfig/Config.aspx. If you get a price quote that is more than $1000 over US delivery invoice, you're paying more than you would through David or some of the other forum sponsors.

I didn't say the 135i didn't get an LCI, I said it won't get an LCI. As in, another LCI before end of production. That's the only thing that makes sense in the context of the question.
