Extended warranty worth it?
Hey guys wanted to hear your guy's input on this warranty. It is through my local bank and is priced at 3k for 5 years and 100k. I am a complete n00b when it comes to warranties, as the 135 is my second car I have had and it won't be a CPO, but still has some factory warranty left. I was wondering if this was a good warranty or if I should get one through BMW. Thank you guys for your help. Greatly appreciated.
I also live in Illinois, and at the bottom it states "shall include normal wear"? SO does this mean bearings and bushings???? |

As far as I know, the BMW 6yr/100k warranty is less than $3k, and you can buy it as long as you're still within the original 4yr/50k warranty (but I think the cutoff is more like 40 or 45k miles).

Damn that is alot of money for the extended warranty.
See if you can get it much cheaper. I not only get the extended warranty but also the machanical warranty (100,000 miles or 84 months), and the 5 year dent removal for that kind of money

Were you guys able to open the attachment? It states in Illinois that this warranty will include normal wear, excluding maintenance and service items. I am wondering if this means things such as bushings and bearings would be covered? And I will definitely try to get that price lower.

I was researching this too but i found that the some BMW extended warranty does not cover some electronic parts like the nav by default so i think it is not worth it then..
Our cars are well built in terms of mechanical, engine, tranny ,,etc .. i am not worried about this i am just worried about the electronic shit that will break.. so if you wanna cover everything in the car i think you will be looking at 4K which is too high to justify.. If you drive you car suppppppppppper hard then go for it but if you are not just put the money on the side in CD account. Just my $0.02

I think it is worth it for some one who drives alot and goes through the 4 year/50k warranty in 2-3 years. Once things start breaking, you will be over 2-3k in no time.

I have an 09 with 8300 miles. I'm about to purchase the ESC PL 84 mnt 70K miles for under $2200. Is it a good idea? I'm not having problems with the car so when its 84 months old it'll still be in pretty good shape.

I was just quoted from my dealership $2095. Extended maintenance warrenty to 6 yr. -100K.
These prices are different for different cars. This price quote was for a 135i. I have purchased this before for my 325Ci and thought it was worth it. At a minimum you will break even on the costs. |
