Spark Plugs, when to change?

I have an 09 bought used CPO with 9600, we are approaching 2012 soon and was wondering is the life of the spark plug related to time or miles or a combination of both?
I currently have 10860 miles and was wondering if it is time to change those babies?
I have the 100,000 mile warranty and maintenance program but not sure when BMW will replace my plugs under these circumstances.

Thank you all for your help in advance.

Service manual states that the 135i gets new plugs every 45k.

+1

There are like two or three stickys about maintenance intervals. If you have increased boost you should replace them more often.

Is time not a factor?

No... why would it be? I can't imagine your spark plugs going bad just because of time...

Yea I suppose they could... in which case just pull the plugs and take a look? I think you'd have to let the engine sit for years for that to happen... if you're stock, just leave them be and they'll be replaced at 45k. If you're not convinced by that then just replace them when you feel the time is right.

Exclamation

I took this photo at a BMW car show over here in Germany. This 335i has the Performance Power Kit (PPK) installed and I liked the sticker the dealer adds from BMW in the kit.

Reading internet forums and responding while... Driving? Glad I don't live in Texas.

I believe it reads replace spark plugs every 60,000 KM. Google is my friend.

Not while vehicle was moving... I really do not text and drive, very bad idea...
It is becoming a huge issue down in TX. Austin took on "X the Text" campaign and it is helping out a bunch.

Yeah, I saw that your Governor Vetoed the bill. They just recently banned talking on a handheld and driving in Washington, which I don't totally agree with.

First spark plug change at 67K kms, then every 60K kms.

FYI... my tuner said I should replace my plugs every 55K kms though. I think it depends on how hard you drive. New plugs are always a good idea for the performance driver.

Any ideas what the change interval would be on a 128i? Same 45k maybe?

I plan on changing my N54 plugs every 15K or 20K (haven't reached either mileage yet).

My awesome SA replaced my spark plugs yesterday at 25,000 miles. I expected to pay for it, but he said no, warranty will pay for it.

I can't tell you how great this dealer has been for warranty service. Russel BMW in Maryland.
