eibach springs ordered. 2$ for a guaranteed Friday delivery. sweet. I called vorshlag to chat with them. Terry told me the OEM springs are a PITA. hence the rash decision

Terry mentioned the spring compressor issue. I didn't know you were attempting it while it was still mounted on the car. But yes, some lowering springs are always a good thing to add

Your install should go much smoother the second time around.

Well camber plates/springs are in, no pictures yet. Hopefully this week will do that.
One small issue: The ABS sensor could be disconnected or broken because that light is on and I have no traction control because of it. Lets hope it doesn't snow. any advice?

tpms

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on these wheels, but I wanna know:
Can you use the tpms setup from the stock tire/wheel when you mount these wheels?
(I was able to do this with my Mini when I moved to a non runflat/lighter aftermarket wheel.)
thanks

overall impression of eibach springs and vorshlag plates on front stock struts.... beautiful stance, but pretty much everything else sucks. Really dissapointed in the ride and noise level. I might buy the koni FSD to help with hitting potholes around town, cause that is a bit jarring. Also hoping that will address the weird springy sound(and creak, see below) when hitting bumps at low speeds. Camber plates definetly transfer a lot more energy to the car and they creak(maybe this is the spring, dunno). Only time I can enjoy the benefits are on very smooth curves and thats not often around here. double frowny face.

does anyone think the FSD's will solve my problems??

Andy, before you do anything, drive my car. I have no springy sounds and the majority of the sounds I have are the whining of my very fat Star Specs.

Hopefully something just wasn't completely locked down. Would prefer not to have a lot of road noise come next week.

Vorshlag plates should make zero noise. The spring end must be doing something unusual in either the top or bottom spring perch. Definitely check the install.

The noise is occuring during the rebound of the car. Found that out during a good ole push test. Does that mean anything to anyone?

Sunday AM, be here or be square, Andy. We'll take 'em apart and put 'em back together. I am wondering if the spring is not sitting in the perch correctly, and is rubbing during compression and rebound. Getting the compressor clamps on, facing the right way, and on the spring in the right locations so that you can put it all back together, isn't easy. I've done it a bunch of times though.

I cannot tell you how important it is to make sure you mark the position of the offset head bolts. Take a black sharpie and mark the position of the bolt you are removing for the carrier, before loosening anything in back.

If you do not do that you'll have messed up camber and toe.
