Anyone changed wheels?

Anyone changed wheels in this country? Preferably not the performance ones (expensive) and if so what size?

I'm looking to change soon but there are not many choices for the 1 series as the offset sizes are bigger than the norm.

I may be importing a set from the USA if I can get the right wheel in the right offset.

At the moment, I do like the Forgestar F14 wheels which are available in custom offset sizes but I'm trying to persuade Velocity Motoring to make the v710 wheels with 1 Series offsets.

Anything you have been looking at? 18" 19" etc?

Yes, I was nearly set to buy v713's with 19x8.5" ET45 for both front and rear as the 9.5" ET45 is way too aggressive IMO.

The guy had to do fender cutting and also have -2.5 degree negative camber. He also have to use a fairly narrow tyre 245 on a 9.5" rim to fit and it looks a little too stretched in my opinion.

A square setup would work though.

Designer wheels in UK can supply these but I found that it's cheaper to import them which includes paying import tax @ 4.5% and VAT @ 15%

Most of the sponsored suppliers on this forum charge around $400 shipping costs to UK.

PS If you like the 18" Performance alloys, both style 269 & 313, you can get them for around £800 a set without tyres new in the UK if you are interested.

im talkin to a guy from designer wheels at the moment. He has suggested another wheel to me 19 inch which i like which can be made to custom offset so i am waiting to hear about them. Possibly 19x8.5 and 19x9 and they look a bit like the vmr 713s. How the hell can you get the performance ones so cheap? lol

Yes, those are the Forgestar F14 wheels as he mentioned them to me.

19x8.5 ET46
19x9 ET50

These should work without rubbing

More details on those here with some pics -

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=forgestar+f14

I have also started a thread here to gain some interest on the v710 in 1 Series fitment

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282752

The Forgstar for me is my second choice but I do prefer the v710's

Regarding the BME Perf alloys I use this site to start the negotiations with dealers and they soon play ball with discounts

http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw...es_e87_alloys/

As you can see. I've been doing a lot of homework

I would decide what wheels you really want as the BMW Performance alloys will work out cheaper (with non RFT) than the Forgestar combo.

I was quoted £1350+p&p for just wheels from Designer wheels and I worked out I can import them for around £1225 delivered inc. taxes but obviously a little more hassle.

£1800 inc. tyres seem reasonable but check what tyres are included. I think Falken 452's are a good tyre and I assume p&p is extra also. I notice most on this forum have gone for 235/265 on theirs.

I was considering the 313 Performance alloys and was quoted for less than £800 from Cotswold BMW for these. It's surprising what discounts can be had if you negotiate and I'm sure you can get the 269's for under £900. One example is that I got my BMW Performance exhaust for £400.

All said and done the Forgestars look fabulous and you will probably be the first in the UK to have them

If the v710 group buy falls through, you never know I may join you.....

I've seen Style 261 wheels go for anything between £500 and £750 on ebay with tyres.

I assume it depends how lucky you get with getting the right buyer. There is a set going on buy it now £549 with no tyres.

Perhaps you can keep an eye on it to see if it sells.

Do you like AC Schnitzer Type 4 wheels? These fit the 1 series as there are a few sets (all silver) going on ebay and also a set on Pistonheads classified

Pics can be found here

I love the 19" staggered Hartge Classic 2 wheels but they are a little out of my price range.

Hartge equipment can be bought from Birds in the UK

http://www.birdsauto.com/

3D Design can be purchased from Mstyle in the UK. This link shows the E87 one but I'm sure they can get hold of the E82 one

Well, I've just changed my wheels to 18" AC Schnitzer Type 3's and I'm pretty pleased with them.
