keyless entry problem

Hello,
I have a 2008 128i, the keyless entry has been giving me problem. It only works 3 out of 10 times. I can use the UP button to unlock, to lock, etc with the key remotely, just that the keyless entry part doesn't work. I've been charging the key also.
Any input on how to fix it?
Thanks.

Replace the battery man. The battery doesn't charge when you plug it in. Its not a rechargeable battery. I just replaced mine yesterday and it works amazing now. I believe the battery is a 2032 battery. Cost me $6.50 and it was really easy to change out.

+1.

Only non CA cars charge the key fob in the slot. CA cars used a lithium battery that sooner or later you will need to replace.

^ What Dackelone said. If you have comfort access=battery in fob. If your door handle has a few little ridges=comfort access.

Okay. Thanks.

CA does not mean California. I'll get used to the acronyms in time.
