Pure Stage 2 DD pics

Hi everyone! After impatiently waiting about 50 days for these, I finally got them. I snapped some pics and I'm curious what your thoughts are. I wonder what the difference is between these and the non DD stage 2's. Anybody notice any area's of concern on these? Install is supposed to start on Wednesday.

Surprising amount of info has been posted on the DD's already if you just google "Pure Stage 2 DD"- dyno runs, logs, reviews etc.

Just a quick scan and the results seem pretty positive for moderate power goals.

50 days? I ordered a set on May 8th and was told they shipped last week. But I still don't have a tracking number. If I end up waiting 50 days I will be pissed. Based on what Pure said, we have already started pulling the car apart so it will be ready when the turbos get here.

But it is nice to see pictures.

Average build time is about 4-5 weeks in the busy season.

Agreed. Those do not inspire confidence. Either someone did not care enough to take their time or didn't know what they were doing. Either way...

So I'm not crazy about the way those welds looked either, but I'm no welder. Now I'm nervous!! I forwarded the pics to Mike at N54 who forwarded them to Charles at Pure who said they looked good. In addition, Pure shipped me a 335 rear turbo instead of the correct one which will hopefully be delivered tomorrow. My installer of course had trouble getting it to fit and claims Pure didn't respond to him from his message on Wed till Mon. So 2.5 weeks and my car is still on the lift! Yay! This entire deal has been a test of patience and expense and I sure hope it's worth it.

the welds are just tack welds cus you opted for the larger turbo bead rolled inlets. they are pressed in and then tack welded, not sure what you guys are worried about. there is no pressure on that side of the turbo its all vacuum. the tack welds are there just to ensure the bigger pressed in inlets dont eventually come out...nothing to worry about, sucks you got the wrong turbo! it will all be well worth it in the end!

I'm well aware of what tack welds are. I also know when they look like $hit. I wasn't referring to functionality, I was referring to craftsmanship.

A tack weld is a tack weld LOL you can always tell them not to tack it and take your chances or don't opt for the bigger turbo inlets.
