I have a similar noise under WOT also and I have a custom muffler delete. I was thinking it might be something to do with the split of the exhaust tips maybe not being smooth or something. Or it could just be a lot of air getting pushed out the exhaust causing it.

bump. Still have this issue. Anyone know how to fix this besides replacing the exhaust or getting a new car? :-)

Reviving an old thread. I'm new here and I just put my berk street axle back and I'm getting this noise too. Anyone found a solution to this yet.

I responded in another thread, but its a defect in the manufacturing process of the exhaust. They refunded me my money and I returned the exhaust to them. Berk ignored me for a long time and then admitted to the fault was on their end months later and did little to rectify the situation. Send me a PM if you have any questions.

You should be fine, that was an early issue with their axlebacks.

Berk won't do shit about it. I have street axle back and it has the whistle too. I hate it! I've contacted berk several times and they don't even bother responding.
I'm buying Active autowerke axle back.

You ain't the only one. I bought an AFE axle back from a member here. As soon as I hit any speed that seems to be going under WOT, I get the sound. Cruising is nothing, just under WOT. I'm lead to believe it's air pressure from the tailpipes making a weird sound, could be from to much air being pushed out. I'm also completely stock. My dad and other BMW guys tend to think its turbo spool that can hear because it's spinning faster. But who knows~

ya it happens with a few different exhaust manufacturers. It could be the turbos spooling. who knows. It is anoying, but i love the sound of the exhaust cruising around.
I wrote Berk twice, no response. I gave up |
