So I think I understand. Its rice when a car contains:
Gigantic spolier Doors that opens upward spinners on rims a bumper that is way too aggressive altezza lights on a car that doesn't come with one naturally a NEW to the list... adding DRL to imitate other cars...? |

I may be close to buying a set of S6 LEDs and then will have to decide whether to fit them on my RS4 as the pic on pp1 I posted, or on the 135i. The fit is easier on the RS as the foglight trim gets directly swapped with the S6 mesh grill+LED and requires no modification (but wiring may be tricky, hence why I am doing more research).
I took out my fog light mesh cover on the RS4 and measured it against the 135i. At its widest opening (at the bottom of the vent ducts), the 135i's bumper seems exactly the same size, so it is quite possible that the S6 lights can fit in without any modification to the bumper on the 135i (if there is, that would be a deal breaker for me). Also, the S6 lights are very thin, so it won't impact airflow. Question that remains is wiring, with no fog lights, I have no idea if any pre-wiring exists (I have the Euro switch which lights up a green fog-light indicator in the dash, but that doesn't tell me much). I recon the easiest would be to hook up the LEDs with the DRL halos for power and you can disable them through the OBD DRL option if you don't want them on all the time. But this is all just very preliminary brainstorming... I won't do anything on the 135i if it requires bumper modification and contributes to a look that isn't 100% factory-like (that to me is the definition of rice). jps: did you get the contacts of the guy with the A4 that did the conversion? Would be great if I can hook up with him. Thx!

///M1 go this thread I started a while back. Its not complete, but were still working on the problem.
Many of us 135i owners want foglamps. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...135i+fog+lamps |

However the led (audi) looking lights on the Mercs were OEM!!! these are not aftermarket fogs, they were on the high end E classes and C's I think.. I'll look into that but what I am saying is just cause Audi has those in their headlights doesn't mean the fog lights that look like them are imitations.. now if they took our headlight housings and incorporations those led looking strips in them then ok that would be bad.. |
