Custom oil pressure gauge fitting
I wanted to install a Oil presure gauge that could be easily removed and be put back to OEM. So, I came up with this. 20mm x 1.5 oil drain plug to replace one plug on top of the oil filter housing. I drilled and tapped the oil drain plug to accept a 3/8 NPT fitting and that goes to a braided line to the oil pressure sensors for the new gauge (which I'm still in the process of making a custom two pod mount to replace the ash tray.
What do you think of my custom oil tap? |

No pics yet. I normally get AutoMeter however, my last car I went overboard and had $750 just in AutoMeter Gauges. So, I went on the cheap this time., the gauges I got are nice. Totally dark when off and very inexpensive. They were only $27 shipped each (got Water temp and oil pressure) but you could find them cheeper. I got them from Amazon because I know the return policy is great if I did not like them. I know I'll get jumped on for this but, they do seem to work well. If they fail I can always get Autometer again.

Here it is all done. I was going to do the ashtray mode but decided to go with the dash pod. I am going to still make the ash try pod just because. I have the gauge bezel part of it done, the ashtray part of it I'll work on next week.

Here's the gauge pod for the ashtray. I'm not going to use it but, I had the parts so I put something together. I only used the bottom part of the ash try and the very top of the ashtray cover for the pod mounting. For whatever its worth, it was one idea I had prior to mounting a dash pod.
This is the approximate position it will set if I installed it (this is just the modified pod).
