DCT clatter at idle?
I have been noticing some faint knocking noise coming somewhere behind center console (probably engine bay) from my new 2011 135i w/ DCT and currently less than 800 miles on odometer.
This is what usually happens. 1. Drive the car for a bit 2. Come to complete stop (at D1 gear with brake pedal depressed) 3. I start to hear faint knocking noise behind center console (about 2-3 seconds after car comes to complete stop) 4. The knocking noise disappears as soon as car moves forward after releasing brake pedal I also heard this noise when I was parked in parking lot at “P” gear with engine on. I took my car to BMW mechanic today and he mentioned that it’s clutch clatter. My last car was VW GTI with DSG (also dual clutch transmission) and didn’t have this kind of problem. Knocking sound is pretty quiet. I guess I am being overly sensitive about this. But I want to know if other 135i owner with DCT is experiencing similar issue. |

Haven't noticed anything, but now you're going to make me paranoid for more noises...
