looking to buy another 135. need advice

I sold my 135 a few years back and looking to get another in the near future. I found one locally, it's a 08 135 6spd with 80k miles for 16k. it has some basic bolt ons and jb4. what should I look out/expect with that kind of miles?

I would take the VIN to your local dealer and see if they can pull the service history. If it's had a lot of problems in the past that might indicate more issues down the road.

See if he has any service records. With that many miles it would be good if it already had walnut blasting done. Listen for wastegate rattle on start up. The last thing you would want is to buy the car and the turbos go in a week.

80k is when the warranty on the wastegate issue expires, so I would definitely check that out, especially if the car is modified.

If I were you I would wait to see if you can find something with less miles/no mods.

Just my thoughts. Good luck in the search!

FWIW, I bought a showroom-clean '08 with 40,000 miles for $18k a few weeks ago. I'd look for a relatively stock one with less mileage.

I'm in the same boat however I would recommend to pass on this one. Better deals can be had for newer cars with less mileage.

Chances are with the JB4 and bolt-ons that those are probably some hard driven miles. I'd keep looking.

Looking at a 128i now that I know was driven hard; 1/4 mile and autocrossed, only 40,000 miles though.

Should I pass?
