Widest front tire?

Just fitted some 285/30-18 BFG R1 tires (on 10" et25 Apex wheels) on the front of my 1M.

This is the tire I've been running on back and was trying to figure out whether I could run that tire square (ie., same size both front and back).

Unfortunately, too much rubbing on both the front and back of fender liner.

Certainly possible that a tire in that size that has less square shoulders would fit, but the R1 -- regrettably -- is a no go.

What the largest tire that others have run?

Thanks.

Neil

Is the rubbing on the outside edge of the tire only, if so do you have enough space between the tire and the strut/spring to use a rim with more ET?

Odd. From what I understand, Mark (M3adjuster) is running that exact setup. I am not sure if he is experiencing rubbing or not...

I will let him chime in.

Outside edge of tire is rubbing on front and rear of wheel well liner starting at maybe 3/4s to full lock.

Don't think that this would be affected by wheel offset and, in any case, I have only just enough clearance to the strut (perhaps 1/8").

i thought you said fender liners are " wear parts"?

I have been running this setup for a little while now.. sure it rubs on parking lot turns.. but I don't get any rubbing at any other times... Course I am also at the stock ride height as well...

I'm a bit lowered (maybe 1/2-3/4"). That may be the difference 'cause the rubbing by the tire on the rear of the fender liner is more than I'm comfortable running.

Thanks.

My 265-35/19 Hoosier A6s rub a little bit. Not enough to slow me down.
