Arrow DIY euro wide angle mirror glass install...

Ok, as promised I installed my euro wide angle mirrors on my US spec 135i over here in Germany. These mirrors are so nice!

My car doesn't have auto dimming nor premium package. Just electric mirrors that are heated. These euro mirrors were truly "plug & play".

These mirrors sell for 77 euros (plus 19% VAT), I paid 61 euros each with my dealer giving me a 20% discount.

I used a pick hook to remove the old glass. You simply tilt the mirror down all the way and then give a good tug on the pick. The old glass simply pops off. Unplug the old heating wires and plug in the new ones. Then just snap the new mirror glass on the housing. It was really easy.

I found this video very helpful. You don't need the flat blade screw driver though.

Y'know Dack, if you set up your mirrors correctly you don't need the wide angle feature.

As always a very thorough DIY, definitely looks like a pain to take out the glass and reinstall still on the car.

That is what I thought so too... but it was very EASY to pop off the old glass and pop on the new glass.

This is a cool little upgrade that I've always thought of doing. Like Savage said, setting your mirrors up like the link he posted is an immense help and I could never go back to the old way of setting my mirrors. I'm interested to see how combining that method with the Euro mirrors would work out.
