Brake Line Replacement
Anyone have a step by step instruction on how to replace the front brake lines on a 135i? One of mine got a hole in it the other day, probably the scarriest moment of my life, but now I need to replace it. Have the part, its the rubber hose that goes directly into the caliper, now just need the how to. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks --Alec |

This'll be a start:
1. remove wheel & soak (perhaps overnight) both ends of hose with penetrating oil. Lay down newspaper to catch any leakage. 2. buy new hose, a good quality flare nut wrench (maybe 10mm or 11mm) and brake fluid. 3. remove line being especially careful not to round the nuts 4. install new line; donot overtighten. 5. bleed this line Always recommend you ask someone who has done this before to help; this is where a CCA membership comes in handy. |

Well to be honest this was crazy easy. Didn't use penetrating compound or a flare wrench (the nuts really weren't on super tight). Pulled the line off put the new one on, bled all of the brakes just to make sure and voila, brakes work perfectly again.
