Setting Height of KW V1 Coilovers
intro:
i've found that the instruction booklet for the KW V1 contains incorrect information about setting ride height. to save you all some time in trial and error, i've detailed my results below. this is likely not accurate for V2 or V3 installations, as they use different springs. the metrics: the measurements i'm using are detailed in the instruction booklet. the front "A-measurement" is the length from the main bolt hole through the knuckle to the TOP of the adjustable spring seat (the bottom edge of the spring) in millimeters. the rear measurement is the entire stack height of the adjuster piece, measured from the surface sitting against the body to the surface sitting against the spring, in millimeters. the resulting ride height, or B-measurement, is measured from the axle (center of the roundel center cap) to the fender lip directly above, in inches. All of my B-measurements refer to my car with 3/4 tank of gas, and after the springs have settled, which took about a week of daily driving for me. the results: Based on my results and calculations, I've attached a spreadsheet to approximate the respective A-measurement needed for each axle depending on the desired ride height. happy installation, alex Last edited by fourtailpipes; 05-30-2011 at 12:01 PM.. |
