Engine Oil Level Sensor + Excessive Consumption
It looks like I might be consuming more oil than normal lately. I decided to actually check and it turns I got the add 1 quart message this morning after only driving 675 miles since the last time I added a quart. The odd thing is that the message didn't go away immediately this time. It took 2 restarts and 15 miles of driving until it showed me as having the proper amount of oil in the engine. Anybody experienced this?

IF you do a lot of short trips... your oil level will not read correctly. When was your last oil change? Read the last pdf on the OCS. I threw in the first two pdf's to show how sw or a bad sensor has been a problem on N54's. I bet N55's are also affected too(like your car).

Ok thanks for the info. I last changed the oil about 4K miles ago and I have now had to add 3 extra quarts since then. Work is only about 5 miles away, so I make short trips frequently. I will also check for faults and maybe just change the oil again.
