lease of $590/mo, $2500 down.... ok, or getting raped?

:iono:

sounded a bit high, but the numbers check out with the ridiculously high Lease rates the 135i has right now.

Might be a little high. Which dealer gave you that price and which other ones have you checked out?

same dealer I've bought my last few from. Lauderdale imports.

I got the price of $1400 over ED invoice. I think it was $38830 or something like that. But the lease rates on the 135 are astronomical (from what she showed me), and worst yet, they brought down the residual from 64% to 58%, which bumped the monthly higher to $590/mo (from $520/mo originally).

Lease on 1series are still really high. I guess they are expecting a decent depreciation hit. You can lease a 3 series for the exact same or less, and its a $5000 more expensive car!

notice that I used a 335i "Purchase" vs the 135i "leased" value.

dunno what to think:wub:

What was your money factor? ED adds .015, so for me it was .300 (which is insanely high as it is)

I believe mine was 255 and jumped to 268 with ED.

what really pisses me off is the the residual dropped from 64% to 58%, and thus, combined with the money factor, the montly jumped nearly $70/mo more!!!

this sucks.

I mean, with the 0.9% financing, I'm tempted to say fuck it and just buy a 335i

With that interest rate it might be hard not to.

what pisses me off is that my trip is a couple of weeks away, my car already built and waiting, my trip planned, etc.

and to get this curveball just really pisses me off

What did you change to make them change the residual from 64 to 58?

1% for financing? You were able to get that? I had 4.69% and i was complaining to the heels, BMW offered me 0.9 for 335. Guess what i said...sorry i am an addict! ha ha ha. I paid mine last weekend. You should use what you have qualified for on the financing, you will be able to have a better informed decision.

I put 3k down, have 5.99% interest rate and pay just over $600/month to OWN the car. I only had heated seats and premium sound for options but for that payment I'd look into just buying it.

leasing a 1st year model = Rape

your numbers seem about right take a look at this post for the aug lease rates

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ht=lease+rates

Leasing a 3 is cheaper because of the specials BMW is running and the residual. 1er leases will suck for a year or so until proper residuals are established.

edit
remember you don’t have to finance or lease through the dealer. they don’t make money on ED so they try to get you else where. If you have good credit try a few leasing companies.

well, looks like although "high", considering the fact that money factor for this car is high, residual dropped, and compared to other leases, it is not bad in relation.

Just sucks to know that 3 years ago my colleague was able to get a fully loaded M3 coupe (e46) leased for $669/mo with $4k down, and I'm gonna end up paying $80 less a month for a 1 series

the car i get on wednesday will cost me $600/month for a 3 year lease. 12k mile/year . I paid nothing down, the previous owner did that for me. (about $1700 out of his pocket total) I'm taking the lease over on the 4th month. Not cheap.. but worth it to me.

ended up paying $3300 out of pocket ($2500 down, 1st month payment, tax, title, etc) and $590/mo for 36 months :iono:

oh well...it is what it is
