Lower control arm bushing issue
I was having tyres fitted this afternoon and the guy showed me that when the brakes are applied on my car the entire front wheel moves backward horizontally about an inch. I've never noticed this when driving before but he picked it up straight away. Then I read here that is was a common problem on E30, E36, E46 here http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-id...mw-e46-371511/
Has anyone here had the same problem on their 1er? |

Yes i went in to get a wheel alignment and he noticed that the steering was following the ruts in the road a little bit and i just put it down to the tyres wearing a bit, so he put the car up on this special machine which the front wheels sits on moving plates under load and the drivers side was moving all over the place and the passenger side was hardly moving and he said that the lower tension strut was worn.
And i had the M3 tension struts in too. Replaced both of them and all good.
