Does our cars have a oil life monitoring system?

I cannot remember if our cars have it, and if it does how does ours work?

Yes, your car has an oil life sensor, which also works in conjunction with your electronic dipstick. It actually measures the quality of your oil, I believe via a dielectric sensor.

Yes, I think it is somewhat reliable, though I'm not sure it can account for fuel dilution and excessive shearing of the oil. I believe though it can accurately account for TBN degradation. The best way to be sure is to perform a UOA to confirm, based on your driving habits.
