Coding....

Is there a way that this coding guy I keep hearing about could code in for the car to read at a higher o2 level?

Trying to think of sneaky ways to eliminate this CEL from the catless dp.

I see in your signature you have jb4. Don't you have it set up on auto clear?

I wish an O2 sim was available for the N55. In really cold weather the car will occasionally stall.

Time to step up to a flash tune guys! <jk> well sort of.

WHY couldn't you just install only one of Burger's DP fix cables on a N55. ???

David,

The flash will not eliminate the light and if you flash the ECU/DME to ignore the O2's, get ready for all the headaches that will ensue.

Since I can't get into the site here at work, you're not referring to the one the N54 uses are you? The N55 ECU/DME box is located on the driver's side of the engine block towards the front. I've heard it is a PITA to access that area. Worse than doing N54 DP's.

Doesn't work on the N55. He thought they would, but in the end it didn't.

Rimas, thanks for the info, wish it wasn't true though lol

BMWBreed, I have Auto Clear set up, but when I move back to the states in case I need to pass emissions, was wondering if I could be sneaky and beat the system, but I see that I can't. I love the auto clear feature and all, but the codes are still there, I just don't see them. ALSO, my car has been over boosting later, would like to see codes when they pop up IF I could take care of the o2 light.

Dack, Terry released a news release for us N55 owners a good while back about how there won't be any DP Fix made, or available, and even warned us not to believe anyone who claims they have made one. All the wires, (like Bob and Breed) said are through DME, so you can't cut in and splice them, which sucks. No DP Fix =/

Thanks for all the replies guys.... even though none of you helped me =P hahaha

I wonder what Mannhart or AC Schnitzer does for car's with DP's. When we toured Mannhart they showed us a "normal looking" N54 cat/DP... but inside was nothing. They said it was designed for their "Swiss" customers who have very strict Polizei enforcement, as long as it looks stock... it is! But inside was nothing. I think he said they also offer that for the N55. ?

Btw... they were also building a 135i with a N55 head but with twin turbos. That car should be ready in time for the IAA in Sept.

Might mount the O2 sensor far enough out of the exhaust gas stream to no trip the ECU? I know Subaru guys who have used spark plug anti-fouler collars to do just this. The collars screw into the O2 bung, then the O2 sensor screws into them. Not sure if this would work for us though.

+1 I know that some did same with B5 S4 Audi.

Though I'm not sure is there enough space for extenders.

I think it should work but could be same like with catted downpipes that sometimes they throw CEL sometimes CEL free randomly...

Justin created one hell of a monster! No doubt he was chased from Europe by a mob of torch and pitchfork wielding peasants.

Mach V is a big Subaru shop in the DC area. The owner Dan is a nice guy, sold me my fist set of wheels for my WRX.
