Time to start planning - just wanna get an idea of what the masses would like.
Picnic or picnic + driving? Bear Mtn seems to be the most popular choice, but there is also Harriman State Park in Harriman, NY near Woodbury and there's Hawk's nest which is more west near the Delaware River but great views on the mountain top, very twisty and fun roads up there as well. As for possible dates possibly 6/29 or 7/6 right now both Sundays.

Bear Mountain and Harriman are good with me. Never heard of Hawks nest but sounds like fun with the roads. Both of those dates work with me. A picnic and drive would be fun. Maybe meet up and have some test drives before we eat. I would love to drive a lotus if someone has one. Of course the 135i as well. I would love to take a ride in the convertible. Cant remember the last time I rode in one of those. Ill be picking up my Evo in 2-2 1/2 weeks so if you dont mind me tagging along i dont mind giving rides to anyone interested. Ill try to break it in by then so we can have a little fun with it;-)

I am currently working with some maps and routes through Harriman State Park - I also set a couple of possible dates a few posts above. Tentative date will be 6/29.

Chris,Ach said do the 29th!
I used to work at a camp near Lake Tiorati. Tiorati Brook Road is a great road from the Pal.Pky. up to seven lakes drive and Harriman.... Matter of fact there is a traffic circle, called tiorati circle.. right on the lake with a pretty large parking area... with bar-b-q. Prob holds like 50 cars. Get there early enough on a sunday might be ours... heres a mapquest link of the area.... or Harriman sounds good. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/ny/#a/m...:::::f:EN:M:/e zoom in and out the check out the terrain! Great 2 laners, curves.. around there to harriman...7 lakes drive...etc. Gonna race jonnytt! Just kiddin, I know no racing. We should't waist time racing each other anyway when we have so many other victims (even a 28):roundel: Lets do the 6/29! Mark it on the cal! |

Well make sure you come check us out at the next meet. I'm working with a few old buddies who I used to cruise these roads with. The only problem will be i'll be 1/3 the hp of the 135is in my e30. Maybe I'll bring my SUV lol.

The FX35 is the new smaller Infinity SUV right? A dealer rents out half the parking lot at my office complex so I get to check them out everyday. The truck drivers rev the shit out of the cars and they all sound amazing. How is the 35? looks like it can be a fun fast SUV.
Maybe we can get a small meet up sometime with a few people and cruise around. |
