1st time drag results...

So I hit up the strip for the first time ever last night and got 3 runs in..
The slips are in my car ill have to get them for the trap speeds but I quick wrote down the times...

Sidenote - I did not launch on any of these b/c I just wanted to get the feel of the track down since I never did this before... now I definitely know and next time plan on launching.. also I have street sumitomo tires...

1st run) DTC/DSC off, DS mode (let the car shift), tire pressure was at 40lbs!!!, i got my summers put on a few weeks ago and did not know the pressure was that high until after this run and i checked... 1/4 = 13.51

2nd run)DTC/DSC off, DS mode (shifted manually but definitely waited to long to go from third to fourth),lowered tire pressure down to 30... 1/4 = 13.32

3rd run) DTC/DSC off, DS mode (shifted manually),lowered tire pressure down to 25... 1/4 = 13.02

The third run finally felt right traction wise.. I know with a launch I could get lower!.. It was def. a fun time.

oh my mods are JB+ default setting, RR intake, bmw perf exhaust...

Did you go into first or let it default to 2nd in DS?

Seems a bit slow

It'd be slow if he was a C&D tester or a professional. For a first time I'd say its spot on. Anticipate a .2-.3 point beginners penalty; perfectly normal.

Those times aren't bad for not really launching the car. What are the trap speeds though!?!?!?

Sorry...

for the 13.51 run I trapped 108.17
for the 13.32 run I trapped 109.20
for the 13.02 run I trapped 112.10

Like I said the first two runs traction just didn't feel right... Trapping the 112 tells me if I can get the launch down ill be money...

Oh and citizen thanks for backing me up since I am a rookie.. ha ha

^^ Oh I am counting the days until I go back.. it is funny to b/c After the first run I was pissed even though I wasn't expecting much... Then I had 2 guys with mazda speed 3's and one guy with an 08 mustang GT say.. "dude you are pissed on ur first try ever.. we run 13.5's on a good day"... ha ha

What would one that was stock do under those 3 scenerio's?

Good runs, and you are going in the right direction...higher traps with each run.

I think stock I have seen anywhere from 13.3 to 13.6.... ill tell ya I don't feel much difference with JB+ in 1st or second.. but once you hit third at least from my own personal experience it rocks...

With a JB3, Injen intake and catted downpipes I did 13.5 to 12.98 with traps ranging 104 to 108mph on the 6M/T. This was my very first time drag racing as well. I think my traps are a lot lower because I wasn't shifting soon enough. I shifted at redline which is pretty far out of the power band. I suspect there are a few tenths to be had just by shifting at 6000 rpm.
