FMIC: best for the cash

Looking at getting a great FMIC but dont want to spend over 900 after shipping and finish (anodized for example)..

Whats the best bang for buck FMIC?

Everyone will recommend the one they bought, for the same reasons why they bought it. I chose the cp-e unit because (1) it includes a secondary oil cooler, (2) cp-e took the trouble to compile a 14 page data sheet, (3) Josh Adams is a really nice guy, (4) they seem to know what they're doing, (5) the price was great, (6) cp-e is local for me.

Other great reasons for choosing an FMIC include, the Spearco/Dinan unit probably has the most r&d behind it, the Active Autowerkes is the coolest looking, the Helix got a compliment from Shiv Vishnu.

adding: I see the cp-e unit is $998 now - too bad the intro price is over.

AMS Performance, HPF and Active Autowerke are top choices. Not necessarily the best priced but I'm not sure that's what you are after.

To cut or not to cut...that is the question.

Completely unbiased but i would say HPF FMIC hands down!

Track test (havent tested any others) but this thing is freaking powerful. NO heat soak experienced all day on the track, huge top end power which wasnt there before. Nobody has put the research in like these guys. Very minimal cutting

What was actually cut out? I'm leaning towards HPF.

I would say ER they are out on the track with it and winning races its just a bit over 900 But then you can add mathcing charge pipe as well with a good blow off valve at a later time when you get more bucks. I have complete set and love it. If you look the thread i posted it has some pics a few pages back

if you look behind your grill you will see a black plastic moulding which needs to be cut out to fit the FMIC. Pretty simple if you have the tools and nothing structural
