Need help soon! AHH! :D
:thumbup:Hey guys,
So with this great Finance rate (.9%) I decided to call my dealer and ask him to search for an AW 2008 135 Manual. He found two, one that was way optioned out for me and another that had the sports package I wanted, and the Ipod Cable. The only thing it had I didn't want was the Premium Package which is $3,000 additional. He told me that he would sell me the whole car for $500 over invoice. Do you guys think that is a real good deal? or I should ask for a different amount? I calculated invoice being around 38,000. I really didn't want to pay more then 36,000. But I really want this car! Ah! The only other problem I have is, if he brings int he car from another dealer I will then need to trade in my 2006 STI since I won't have time to sell it privatley. Ah! Decisions, Decisions! Any input welcome! Thanks! |

It's true.... paying for something you don't need sucks....
But... I don't NEED a $40,000 car. I don't NEED 300 hp. I don't NEED to hang out with super models. Now, this is where that "want" thing gets in the way. |

If money is an issue, just pick up a used one. There will be some for sale soon and they will have taken the initial depreciation hit for you. Or just get the one you want without the extra options.

Why not eBay the STI? It's a niche car so it should sell quickly if the price is right.
If I were you, i'd jump on that deal.

I don't NEED to hang out with super models. Are you sure you deserve a 135i because super models are standard.

remember, a 2008 is a 1-year old model. you automatically loose $3000+ off resale value compared to a 2009 model.
especially if you dont want premium package, id price a 2009 to be made exactly the way you want it.....something to consider

I'll take that Super Model you don't really need because I sure as hell could use one...or two for that matter...one could always use a spare plus the wife could use a little help around the house...yep, I'll take that approach...think she would fall for it:eyebulge:
Oh, and the car...just buy the damn thing...you want it...they need to get rid of it:thumbup: Call

re. the car purchase... The deal you describe is a great one. Sounds like the 3k Premium Package is your sticking point. So, if you haven't already got one, nab a 135 brochure plus do more research online and get to know the Package... maybe, just mayyyyyybeee, you'll wam up to it. I gotta say, options and mods on a 135 do sort of grow on you. Good luck w/ your decision.

In Texas you only pay tax on the difference in price between the new car and the trade value. For example if the 135 is $42,000 and your trade is worth $22,000 you only pay sales tax on $20,000.
Sales tax in Texas would be $2,500 with no trade and only $1,200 with a trade shown in my example. Something to consider when deciding to trade or sell ouright. |
