Will these fit ......

Having a hard time finding VMR rims in Canada. Shipping from the US is ridiculous.

This is the best I can find. The rears are correct. Will the fronts work with a 225 40 18 tire.

I may decide to go square. Will the fronts also work on the back with the same 225 40 18

Thanks in advance

225/40 and 255/35 is the proper fitment for those wheels

225 is a big stretch on a 9.5 inch rear wheel

My son bought VMR 701 wheels (18x8.5/9.5") with 225/40-18 and 255/35-18 Dunlop Star Spec tyres for his 135i from TunerWorks in Calgary, quite a bit cheaper than pruchasing from the US when shipping and other charges were taken into account:

I recommend going with the 8.5 +45. The +35 will be a bit too aggressive in the front.

you will be fine with 35 offset for the front, i am running 30 offset w/ 225/40 tires. the rear, 50 offset with 255/35 will be perfect w zero rubbing issue. But then your front will poke out more than the rear.

+35 is like running a 24mm spacer on the stock wheel.

Way too aggressive in an 8.5 inch wheel.

Agreed
I have vmr and IMO +40mm on front with 8.5" width rim is the max without too much poke
