That's exactly what I do. I also have leatherette, which I hear wears less over the years.

Just an observation....having test-driven cars with both sport and standard seats, I found that in the summer time, the sport seats were fine. But in the cold weather, with winter coats on, the sport seats were a bit tight for me and my wife. (And we're not exactly big people, either.)
