135i correct jacking points

Hi guys

Very quick query re the correct jacking point for the rear of a 135i. From what I've read you can safely jack up the rear via the diff. Is my below proposed lift location exactly where it needs to be on the diff? Should it be further forward past the join? I don't want to damage anything so thought I would check first. I'm using an Arcan jack and hockey puck.

I've also sorted the front jack point and thought I'd share for anyone else wondering. Run the car up onto timber or a ramp in my case to get the front bar high enough to accept a jack under the engine bay. Position the jack pad under the engine bay pad with a hockey puck as extra protection. Jack up carefully and then position your jack stands under the front left and right side jack pads.

I haven't tried then jacking up the rear via the diff and placing two more stands under the rear left and right side jack pads but I gather this should work ok? My only concern is the car moving backwards as I start lifting the rear of the car.

Make sure if you're using the rear diff that you're not on the diff cover in any way.

Otherwise, just use the subframe crossmember.

Silly question but is the cover the rear diff section with the bolts that thread into the front section? Ie make sure to be on the larger front metal section & don't have the jack pad touching the seam line like it is in my last photo?

Good to know, I've always jacked it up like he has it in the first pic. Will move the jack further forward next time.
