Excellent. I emailed Randall back earlier (we spoke a bit about these last week), waiting to hear back on price, and other necessary items for this.

So you're saying I can use this cable on my '13 N55 E82 to install any flash I want? Latest I've heard is the only way to flash the 1726 E series DME is to have it bench flashed first. Something no one has been able to do via OBDII.

Dinan tunes are OBD flash, even for late production e cars.

Someone buy one if you have the 1726 DME. I'd like to install MHD with this cable, but have a feeling it won't work due to the locked DME. Maybe this only works with the BPC tunes?

Well i just got my response and I am pretty sure it isnt what we all wanted to hear!! The cables are good for there BPC tunes only. If you want to run other tunes like MHD we still need to get our DME unlocked! This info was specific for my 2013 135i.

I was really hoping i didnt have tto send the DME out!

O well!

That's what I figured. Although I've heard people mention that if you've had a Dinan tune at some point you may be able to load MHD. So I wonder how BPC was able to unlock the DME via the OBD like the Dinan? BMW sponsored?

Any sources for this? I have a Dinan stage 2 flash on my 2012 with a "locked" DME. I would much prefer installing an MHD flash, but wanted to avoid ripping my DME out and shipping it out to be unlocked. I've looked around for info like this in the past, but haven't had any luck.

I have always wondered how a Dinan flash was installed if my DME is locked from flashing, but assumed that Dinan had some way to bypass the lock. If they actually unlocked the DME to install their tune and I could just flash MHD instead, that would be awesome.

I recall someone mentioning that it worked. I was going to attempt the MHD flash via OBD because the previous owner had Dinan stage 2. But you'd have to go through the flash procedure to find out if it works or not. I think the reason I haven't attempted is because there's a chance you can screw up the DME if it fails?

I've got the cable and everything ready, just haven't attempted it.

Sorry for digging up an old post. I’m interested in a flash for my 2013 BMW 320i. I logged onto Bimmer Performance Center website but there is no mention of the flash there.
