OT: Song title...

Hi guys, I'm hoping the collective Aussies can help me out of my misery. No, no more weird dreams - I am trying to work out a song that I can't find.

There's a track that I thought was Icehouse's "Great Southern Land" that there's a version that you hear every now and then with an Aboriginal segment / fill. I thought it was some of the Yothu Yindi band, but I've tried all the Googling I can think of and can't find it.

Anyone got any ideas?

You need an Iphone, there is an App (Shazam) that is free. It listens to any song for 10 seconds and tells you all the info including album art, it has not failed me yet. I have used it on the TV, car even in a clothes store to get the details on the store background music:w00t:

Thanks Swift135, yes, I'm aware of Shazam - but I only have an iPod Touch, which doesn't have a microphone. Anyway, I can't even find a sample of it. Damn, it's driving me potty!

Dave, will do, once I know myself. Argh... I'm almost sure it's 'Great Southern Land', but couldn't find any evidence of that on the 'net.

iTunes is amazingly devoid of any Icehouse stuff too.

Hi guys. Could it be the version of "Great Southern Land" on the "Primitive Man" which is 5:19 in length and i thought the original was at about 5:03. BTW i love that version you have mentioned.

Also looking around all "OTHER" avenues and cant find anything either.

To Swift135, thanks for the mention of Shazam sounds like a good app.

Thanks MrBMW, but I don't think that's it, there's no mention of the aboriginal stuff on its wiki entry. You know the one I mean then?

Hi SimonB, definately know the one you mean. I know i even have it at home somewhere (although i have some 1000 cd collection). If we can get a name or something else, i could *cough* lend it to you even. Just not sure what it is under

Iva Davies from Icehouse still owns the music rights and doesn't allow any recordings to be released (at least not very many). Not sure why.
