n54 muffler delete and catless downpipes...too loud?

i am currently running with a muffler delete. everything is stock. but im thinking about getting the catless downpipes. im worried that i will get drone and it will be too loud. especially during cold starts.

any opinions will be appreciated.

thanks

I think it's too loud as well. A decent straight through muffler will preserve most turbo whistle and your sanity

Too loud. Will also get tons of rasp. Get a MadDad whisper if you like deep roar.

I have my car fully straight piped and i love it, but I am only 18 so im still young. But as for drone i feel like my car has always had some drone and now its just louder , but im already used to it and just turn my music up if i dont want to here which doesnt happen much. Only thing you can really do is watch youtube video of it to see, not the best way to tell but itll help.

I also think its too loud when driving. Here you could hear JK135i car from a few kilometers away - as he drove away from this car show(!)....

What about if you were to go catless dp's, muffler delete, and then cut out the cats in the mids and replace them with resonators?

To me thats still too loud but it really depends on the person. You might really like it.

I recommend you start step by step and just stop once sound is too loud.

Start by doing catless downpipes first

I agree with going catless first. However when i deleted the cats driving with windows rolled up honestly was not enough change for me to notice. And not really sure if it was louder with windows down. I am looking for a muffler replacement now to give the car more rumble.

Edit: catless not carless

Inlets and downpipes are finished today, surprised at how quiet the setup is! Catless downpipes, muffler delete, stock n54 mids. When not wot its really mellow i can barely notice much difference. I didnt get a ton of wot pulls as my intercooler coupler and sound baffle thing kept popping off. Regardless i will have to cutout the midpipe cats and replace them with resonators. Then it should be where i want it.
