The 17x9.0 will be perfect for the rear, but on the front its sure to rub the front strut. I'd rather get 17x8.0 ET45 for 245/40/17 on the front.

I run 225/45-17 front and 255/40-17 rear on Michelin Pilot A/S in the winter with no rubbing. ET is 47 front and 50 rear.

I think it looks and handles fine with this setup.

This setup maintains the stock 25.0" tire radius for a 128i sport package, which comes with F 205/50-17 and R 225/45-17

I don't think you can go wider than 225 for a 17" wheel in the front without fender work. I run 235/40-18 front in the summer with ET 45 and it barely fits, but as Eddy pointed out previously, the 17" tire protrudes beyond the wheel and would hit the strut where the 18" would not.

I hope that helps, and good luck.

9" width should be fine up front with -2.5-3 negative camber. I am looking to go square setup with 17" and that's the only 17" wheel i found with 50 offset for the rear, where i can put 255 Star Spec

Unfortunately there are not many options for 17". Most people wanting to run 17" use something like d-Force LTW5 or the APEX ARC-8. Both of those are 17x8.5 ET40 - That will give approx 5mm of strut clearance on the front. I am not 100% sure, but maybe possible to squeeze in 255/40/17 with lots of front/rear camber and fender mods.

I am currently running APEX ARC-8 17x8.5 et40 and probably will stay with them for the next season, i will put 255 star specs and leave the rest to the body shop...i hope they will do a good job with the fenders
