It is 2" for the front and 3.5" for the rears in regards to the lip width. The tires are 8"x18" and 9"x18" with ET38 and ET45 respectively. I am running 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 Contis with no rubbing, but I am on stock suspension. I am ordering the same dimensions tire wise for Dunlop Star Specs, so I will let you know if those rub since they are a more square and wider running tire. Thanks by the way? They are really affordable wheels, I paid $1200 for them after shipping, mounting and balancing and I have my TPMS sensors fitted to them with no problems.

If you checked the date when I wrote that, it was like 4 months ago. What's it to you if posted more? Never bothered me when people post pics of their new cars in stock form though I've seen them a thousand times. There is no harm in posting pics of their pride and joys unless the moderators feel otherwise. If that's the case then, by all means they can take them down.

It just seemed posting 35 pics of a new wheel seemed a bit excessive. If you had modded the exterior, interior and wheels, maybe.

I understand now, you're right. I do have interior/exterior mods such as the BMW Performance Steering Wheel (electronic), BMW Performance selector lever and boot, BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Diffuser and Spoiler, BMW Performance Rotors (front and rear), BMW Performance Kidney Grills, BMW Performance Exhaust, and Power Kit. So pretty much all OEM mods. I just haven't really taken too many photos of those since everyone has seen pics of those and as far as I know, I'm the only one running Evolves. Not sure if most BMW owners would consider them since they aren't as exclusive as OZ, Enkei, Volk, Breyton, BBS, HRE, DPE, iForged, etc. But they really are great wheels with no problems and couldn't beat the price.

They leak a bit more than the OEM runflat wheels, I air each tire a bit once every two to three months (as per the low pressure warning).

Thanks for the answer. I saw that the Kyowa have a 73.1 hub bore while BMW need a 72.6 HB. It seems wheels spacers are not available for this conversion (0.5 mm). How did you do it?

I am not sure what you mean by the hub bore, but the lug pattern is 5x120. I be honest, I never researched the hub bore, but I have been running these wheels for 8,000+ miles with no problems, except bald tires which I only have myself to blame (tires are over 15,000 miles). I am on stock suspension though, so if you plan on lowering you might want to add camber and or roll fenders. Mounting Star Specs tomorrow, will tell you if I have any issues.

As you know, BMW wheels are hubcentric and have a hub bore of 72.56 mm. In short "hubcentric wheels have a hole at their center that fits closely over a round feature on the hub, serving to center the wheel on the axis of the spindle, as well as bear the vertical weight of the vehicle" (see pic).

When you have a 73.1 hub bore like the Kyowas, you must use a hubcentric ring to precisely fit the wheel on the hub, the problem being that you don't find any rings that convert a 73.1 HB to a 72.56 (BMW) HB. When you don't have a hub bore exactly the same as the hole on the wheel, you may experience vibrations, especially at higher speeds. Did you install the wheels yourself or had them installed by a mechanic?

I had them done at a local tire/wheel/performance shop. I don't know if I have such a ring or if at all, but I do not feel any vibrations and I just had them reinstalled with the Star Specs which are a dream. I rub only a bit under dudden bumps and drops at speed. Do any other wheel manufacturers do this? Again until you brought this up it never was a concern of mine, but then again I have no issues with the wheels. Can any other wheel vendors chime in?

I looked at the back of my stock wheels (they are the Style 264 wheels) and I didn't see what you were talking about unless I am not looking for the same thing. Here is a picture of the stock rear wheel from behind. From what I see its pretty flat back there.

Well I guess they don't fit then, don't know what to tell you guys. I just know that I've driven over 8k on these wheels with no problems and autocrossed four events with no issues of any kind except small rub from fitting the new tires. You guys speak of a hub lip that is not even present on my original wheel as the entire face of the back is flat with no lip machined in. Its a very small difference .54mm. Thanks for the info, but other than that I see no problem with the wheels.

The "lip" is the inner hole (where your center cap is). The wheel hub goes into that hole and the wheel's weight rests on the hub.



Using wheels with a larger diameter hub bore means there's some gap between the wheel hub and wheel.

If you check the hole in the center of your wheel, it's bored to fit precisely on your hub. That's what a hubcentric wheel is. It serves for centering the wheel on the hub to avoid vibration, alignment problems and potential lug failure.

I appreciate the explanation and now I am wiser now on the issue, but despite the wheel not being hubcentric I still have not had any of the symptoms that a non hubcentric wheel would portray. Oh, Star Specs are on and they grip to no end Wheels haven't spun no matter how hard I launch the car (full traction and stability control off). These are some gummy tires I think I need more power.
