Help with Lux v4
So I just picked up my 135is Thursday. Tried to install the Lux Angel Eye V4 and for whatever reason cannot get the headlight covers off. Anyone in or around Chicago know how to do this? I'd love some help before I screw up my adaptive headlights and break something. I've never seen a car with so much stuff going on right behind the headlights/this hard to change bulbs.

I've done it a couple of times with my car so I can. Have you checked out Lux website? they have instructions. There's also a Youtube video if you search. Oh, and don't forget to tape it firmly against the interior cover if yours got adaptive headlights or it'll show errors.

Read the instructions and watched the video. Idk what I'm doing wrong but I can't pop the covers off. I also found an unplugged connection that seems to just be down by the passenger side headlight from the factory.
I was planning to pick up some double sided tape/Velcro tomorrow morning and a right angle tool to do the kidney grills as well. KEI7 are you around this weekend? Would love to get the front end of my car fixed up with halos and grills and also meet some local 1addicts. I'm in east Lakeview basically Sheridan and diversey. |

In the NW burbs. If you are in the area I can help. I replaced my eyes with mtechs so have removed the covers. You're right. Tough to remove.

I'm ended up working late and stayed at my parents' place in lake forest tonight. Heeltoe if you're around tomorrow I'd love to do the install (and also see your car as I want similar suspension).

Heeltoe did you also have an unplugged connection on your passenger side? Mine was wedged beneath the cover almost back by the strut. Wires were red/blue I believe.

Do you have the "right angle tool" to swap kidney grills? If not I can pick one up and do that myself tomorrow. Flathead screwdriver was a total fail...

Great meeting you today. The install went great and looks awesome on your car. A couple pics from the meet are attached.

So for whatever reasons these keep throwing codes at night saying "adaptive headlights". Not sure if HeelToe and I oriented the switch boxes wrong in the housing or what but I've taken both sides out several times and repositioned them and they seem ok for awhile but then as soon as the adaptive headlights are needed (every night) it's about 5min before it throws the code.
Would love some help with this if anyone knows how to fix it. Thanks. |

Check out this thread. It must be that the box is interfering with the adaptive light movement. I had erros too, but if you stick it to the right spot, you'll be fine.

Still having issues with these. I've velcro'd the box to the back of the housing and have tried placing it in about 6 different spots to no avail. If anyone is local and can help me fix this there's a 6 pack of your choosing up for grabs.
Don't really feel like paying iND to install angel eyes... |
