Sorry to bring back the alignment pin issue but...

My local region is saying removal of the centering pin on the 135 is not stock class legal, but I'm reading some of you saying that it is. Is there any definitive stance on this? Something in writing somewhere?

Something besides the TIS, which I showed them already.

No need for apologies. Local region has veto power over anything which is questionable, so unfortunately if they aren't ok with just the TIS bulletin, that's all we have right now. Perhaps someone knows who to talk to in order to get a letter back from BMW NA regarding the fact that this is the NORMAL and FACTORY APPROVED method as PER THE MANUAL to adjust camber on the 135i (since there is NO other method of camber adjustment!) Note the keywords in all caps, getting those in writing from BMW NA might be enough to sway your region, and any others which might question the legality of this (as I'm sure some other regions would).
The problem here is we're just little fishies in the sea, nobody from BMW is gonna want to spend time researching/replying to us! :-(
Otherwise, the only thing we have is if anyone here is a tech from BMW and can search over all any other factory provided documentation for other articles regarding 135i (specific) camber adjustment procedures. Anyone?

Anyone know how to access/read that TIS bulletin? I know the # is 32 00 610, just have no idea if it's available anywhere.

I thought the TIS was only for the 335 and not for us which causes the issue?

Just noticed this:

"Note: Camber and toe-in influence each other. Adjust the toe-in first in order to simplify the adjustment procedure."

Totally backwards, but I think they're saying it in the context that you shouldn't need to adjust camber any to be within spec so just work with toe. Still seemingly backwards, but at least they say check it later and repeat toe adjustment if necessary.

Did more digging right here on 1addicts and found Beth Strelnieks' post about mods done to her D-Stock 135i for her D-Stock Ladies 2008 nationals win... She had alignment pins removed at the national level.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=10

....and 275 wide Hoosiers all around? Damn!

Good to know, that might help you. But just remember, local regions have the power to decide the rules as they see fit, regardless of what other regions or Nationals say. So they can, within the rules, still say no even though a Nationals car was allowed this mod.

And I'm guessing the Hoosiers must run a slightly different width. Spacers or not, I can't fit Start Specs 255 in the front without major rubbing. I dunno. Maybe you should try. ;-)

Maybe I will, but that will wait for next season. I'm going to finish this season on Star Specs since I want to progress slowly 1 mod at a time. I'm still relatively new to autocross (7 events total, 4 with the 135.) Like Beth/Erik said in their posts, there is also a 265/30/18 Hoosier that will probably fit a lot better too.
