Does your clock lose time?

I know it sounds strange. Occasionally, the clock in my dash (and radio) in my 128i will lose a couple of minutes overnight. Several days or weeks will go by and it's fine but then I jump in the car one morning and it's lost a couple of minutes, or more. The next day - or several days and it's fine again.

It's happened three times now, has anyone else experienced this?

Mine does this. Loose time slowly. It is supposed to be tied into the sat nav, apparently they forgot that code in mine.

Hmm. Mine will keep time very nicely then all of a sudden will be two or three minutes slow. No Sat Nav on my car...

Sometimes when the battery needs to be replaced, they can do funky stuff like this. I've seen them where the time will be off or the date start to switch. I would have it checked if you don't know how old it is.

Mine looses a minute occasionally but is much more accurate than the clock in my other vehicle, a Suzuki SUV. I reset it occasionally based upon my GPS (a Garmin). GPSs are very accurate because they have to be to work. They are timing signals from satellites so they have to know the exact time (which they get from the same satellites). I think car clocks are handicapped by the fact that the voltage in the car varies. I'm surprised the bimmer is as accurate as it is. I don't know if the voltage is better controlled or the clock compensates for the changes.

Mine was doing this a little at first but then every time I turned the key off. Replaced the battery and it hasn't done it since.

My clock is slow too. I'm about 2-3 minutes behind my blackberry time. I've set it to match my blackberry before, but after a few months its behind again. Oh well at least the car is fast
