No clouding on my window trim. Also, ask the stealer why it's missing the headlight washer cover on the right hand side. Make sure you look underneath the front bumper to see how scraped up it might be. Get a PPI done too.

Headlight washers were all there when I checked it out today. The bottom of the front bumper is a little scraped but not as bad as my current car. Going to schedule a PPI tomorrow morning and if all goes well will be driving home in it later tomorrow. Thanks again for all the info guys. Going to ask about the slight clouding on the trim and see if its just soap residue. If not I'll have them replace it.

I've read about shadow line trim discoloration from the harsh chemicals used in drivethrough car washes - I don't think it buffs out, so I would push for replacement.

Agreed - the non-nav car is the preferred one by most people. Mine has the premium package and HK - two options I personally wanted. I'm 6'3" and fit fine - but generally never turn down extra headroom. On a totally random note - the Toyota 4runner doesnt have a passenger seat that goes up and down. I fit in the 1m, but not a toyota 4runner passenger seat...

This or just clean up those exhaust tips. I had good results using some polishing soap and ultra fine steel wool.

Congrats and enjoy!

The OE tips are chrome...don't use steel wool. Try this, a microfiber cloth, and some elbow grease instead: http://www.autogeek.net/auto-metal-polish.html

Worked wonders for me - polishing soap and microfiber alone did not cut it

Followed this technique - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5-pAvgmJuw - no swirls or unwanted marring.

If you use steel wool on chrome, it *will* scratch it. No way around it. Depending on how particular you are, they may not be particularly apparent, but swirls will be there.

I'm a show car guy, so I'm really fussy about these things. Chemical cleaning is the way to go here unless the tips are trashed. In that case, some swirls may be acceptable and/or unavoidable.

Congrats and welcome. As others have said, I also think you're better off without nav. You get a cleaner looking dash and get manual seats, etc.

I actually ordered my 1M without nav and when we picked it up (European Delivery), it had navigation and iDrive due to a BMW ordering / production error that affected a very small number of cars (info here). On the plus side, my car is one of only a few in the U.S. (likely single digits) that has navigation without power seats, power folding mirrors, park distance control, etc. And it didn't cost me anything. But I never use the nav. Ever. I sometimes use iDrive to show what music / podcasts I'm streaming and to check things like oil level, but that's about it.

I programmed preset #5 to turn off the nav screen and that's my default driving mode. : )
