120d M Sport
Hi guys I\'m new to this forum and this is my first post
Previously had a Ford Focus ST which was running about 310bhp but decided I need a nice diesel and better built motor! What spec comes from factory as standard on a 1 series and what do I get from the M Sport pack? Looking at an 2006 Alpine White 120d M Sport this Saturday so pretty excited! Rob |

hi there, I have a lot of respect for these 2 litre diesel engines. I own an E46 320D, 5 Speed manual. Had a decat and software doen. The car is awaresome, lots of low doen torque and more grant than before. Very economical.
Compared to your previous vehicle having 310 Hp, yeah you might be disappointed when compared to the 120D. But this car/engine is totally different category. I would suggest you buy this 120D , but look for a 6 speed manual car. It is soooo much fun once decatted and software. You will drop golf 6, E46 M3, even the focus ST from pull away. |

While a bit pricey, you might want to look at the BMW Performance Kit for the 120d, just had this done and while the figures don't look extremely impressive [I thnk they are coonservative on their "official figures", the seat of the pants feel is a night over day improvment. On the plus side no reduction in mileage, and BMW backs the upgrade. Install on the manual trans is about 1.5 hours, while the Auto requires 5.5 hours as the Torque converter is also replaced. Also raises the top end to 154 mph[247 kph]. It also maintains the emisions at EU4, in case your MOT is as strict as our T.U.V., or for an additional Euro 100 you can upgrade to EU 5 [for the Tax Break, which on the continent is about Euro 200 per year]
